One more pearl from my collection. Was bought with certificate, but we lost it. The stones test as diamonds. There are markings on the bail, l can't read it. Any info on the pearl welcome. I would like to clean it, but don't know what is the best way to avoid damaging the pearl. Thank you

That is a Mabe pearl, I have one also, I use a pearl cleaning solution that we have here in US specifically for delicate jewelry.

Yes, with pearls they don’t really need cleaning, a wipe over with a damp cloth is fine. You could use a dampened soft toothbrush to remove any gunk / dust around the Pearl. The Pearl is probably glued into the setting so best not to wear it in the shower swimming.
I use a “silver cloth” to shine up any metal parts to remove tarnish. Just use on the metal parts, not the Pearl.

Ditto the dampened soft toothbrush (I run a baby toothbrush under hot water for a few seconds, the bristles soften a lot). A quick soap scrub to get into the nooks and crannies won’t hurt the pearl - just rinse thoroughly afterward in cold water and then dry it off. The diamonds you can scrub as much as you like of course :))

All good advice. No ultrasonic cleaning. Just wipe the Mabe down, You can use a bit of cleaner on a cotton bud to rub down the metal if its tarnished and rinse immediately in lukewarm - never hot water. Baby toothbrush is an excellent idea for a general clean up.
