Pearl inspiration wishlist/photos

Hello! I have searched for a similar thread, but didn’t find any.

I’m curious if any of you have pearl photos you drool over, or at least wish you had something similar one day. Something to serve as an inspiration.

Mine’s this one, of Consuelo Vanderbilt, later Duchess of Marlborough, with a long pearl rope.



I dream of having a similar rope one day. I’d love natural saltwater, like the original, but I’m neither an heiress, nor a duchess, so I hope to recreate it with all nacre freshwater pearls instead.

Do you have any photo of anything you’d love to recreate or own one day? I’d love to see, if you do!

My sister in law 's husband bought her a rope like that of FWP. But she found it too heavy and doesn't wear it!

It might be a good idea to try to recreate one like that in glass imitation pearls from a craft store and see if you actually enjoy wearing that much weight around your neck.

ETA: I really didn't answer the question, though, did I? The fact is, I am probably done buying pearls. I have a nice collection-- and an adult daughter who doesn't care to inherit them-- so I've put the brakes on.

That’s a great suggestion actually, to see how all that weight feels! I’m going to have one made in oval FW pearls (found some goooorgeous ones on Etsy), so it’s gonna be quite cheap and quite close, weight-wise, to the dream strand, I think. Already bought a 16 inch strand last year, still need 2 or 3 of the same and then I’m good to go. I’ll post it here if I actually finish it!

some of you might remember the thread and the member who owned this ring but i always loved it
i want to make this ring in memory of Borris -with a tweek or two

now i have had a pearl ring before and lets just say it ended badly as i was not careful enough with it so i achknowledge i dont have a great track record

- i have a somewhat modest $$$ amount in mind of how much im willing to spend per pearl and i plan to buy two of each for when they need replacing

im thinking two grey Tahitians and a white whatever of similar luster , i can repurpose the diamond i already have and add a peridot for her green eyes

I follow waaaaay too many IG accounts with lovely pearls, there’s something to ogle every day. I’d love something multicolour akoya, maybe a ring. However, I don’t wear the pearls I have already, and in a similar scenario to @pearlsngems I’ve really stopped buying, sigh. You girls will have to get some gorgeous things and post them on here for vicarious pleasure!
