I don''t know if I''m SUPER picky, or if I''m blind... I''ve been searching for 2 pear shape diamonds to mount on either side of a lovely 2.5ct pear amethyst... and I''m just not finding the quality that I want.

I''m shooting for .35 - .45 ct each. I see a few in the search, but it''s the size that''s getting me. Do you think if I went bigger (I have found a few very lovely diamonds in the .6 - .7 ct range) it would be too much? I don''t want the diamonds to compete with the amethyst - which is a very lovely deep and rich purple.

Suggestions on - or pictures of the size comparisons would be great - I''m shooting to have this project done by my birthday - beginning of February (with some luck!) I wish I had the exact measurements of the amethyst... approximates are: 11x7x5.

When I have the amethyst in my hot little hands I''ll post pics and the exact specs.

For a pair of matching pears, I''d prefer to have the vendor source them for me. This way, he can match the cut, dimensions and the whole 9 yards. There are more stones that what is in the database. I have seen GOG find some excellent pair of pears for another Pricescope in that size range. Another good suggestion is to contact ERD who is right in the diamond district because he has access to tons more diamonds.

Thank you Chrono.

Do you think that is an appropriate size for the amethyst? I don''t want them to get lost next to the amethyst, but I also don''t want them to overpower the amethyst (which I doubt will happen, the amethyst has a great color)

The amethyst is around 11x7 right? What do the pears measure at? I normally draw things out on paper to help me visualize to scale.

The amethyst if 11x7x5.

The pears that I have seen (not ones that I''m happy with, keep that in mind) measure approximately 6x4x3 for a .4 - .45 ct stone and 7x5x3 for a .6''ish ct stone.
