I''m thinking of a pear aqua pendant for my wedding "something blue" -- any advice on best places to look? I am in LA, so I will probably look downtown but I''d like to check out some great online sources as well!

Thanks,
RZ

I don't know what your price range is, but the 3.54 carat pear listed at the top of the page is one of the most beautiful color aquas I have ever seen, and there's very little grey in that stone compared to the other aquas, which is RARE!! He takes offers on stones, so you wouldn't have to pay that full price. I tend to see more grey in aquas than in my husband's hair!!

Yes, that 3.54 pear is lovely but one would need a healthy budget for that gorgeous aqua. Very blue and not much gray. Certainly not your typical aquamarine that is so pale and washed out.

I think you can give a substantially lower offer. I check out their ebay auctions from time to time and they accept offers a lot lower than the asking price on occassion. It depends on how long it's been in stock I would imagine. That stone is amazing, and much better than any of the aquas I've seen at my recent trip to Tiffany & Co.

Please buy this stone and save me from myself!!! I've been eyeballing it forever!

Yup. I''ve seen Adam''s aquas and some of them are beauties.

True, but whether it is accepted is another question. Adam will work with you to arrive at a fair price. But, sometimes he just cannot lower his asking price by much, if at all. My emerald is one such example.

That''s why I mentiond that he can accept offers a lot lower than the asking price on occassion. I would imagine he couldn''t do it all the time.

No offence meant, but have you ever dealt with him? I believe I was the one who told you that he negotiates. However, I have never stated that he accepts "substantially lower" offers.

Thanks for correcting me as usual Harriet.

On ebay, he SOMETIMES accept substantially lower offers if you look through the feedback and the history.

You might want to compare his ebay prices with his website prices.

I did and his ebay offers were still substantially lower on SOME items than they were in comparison to his website, even though his ebay prices are a bit higher. I know because I was interested in some of his gems and I did the research. Can we not hijack another poor lady's thread again because you had another disagreement with me? Thank you.

I have no beef with you personally. Afterall, I do not know you from Adam. However, you have stated repeatedly that your raison d'etre on PS is to educate posters. I may not have your knowledge, but I can identify the occasional inaccuracy (and, yes, I am often wrong myself). Let us just think of it as a system of checks and balances here. I am weighing in on your claims about ParaibaInternational precisely because the gem that has been suggested to Rockzilla is one of theirs. Should she be interested in it, I would hate to see her lose it because of misinformation about their negotiation strategy.

Disclaimer:
I do not work for ParaibaInternational.

Rockzilla,
My apologies for the threadjack. I''ve seen the stone that has been suggested. It''s gorgeous.
