What should I do?
In an ideal world the dealer would give me the stone and I would take it to get appraised and then come back to him and pay. Of course that's asking a lot of him.
Here are the facts:
1) He has a 30 day return policy.
2) Since he has to pay his vendor he's not exactly happy about taking cash and then if there are issues and I need a refund having to ask for the cash back.
3) He needs to pay the vendor like yesterday. This means he has to front him if I do not pay today.
4) Appraiser can tell me if the stone is worth less than I paid and I would feel a little uncomfortable with the dealer sitting right there (would he influence the appraisal?).
5) Appraiser can see me tomorrow at 9AM.
Options:
1) Hand over cash for stone today and go to appraiser tomorrow on my own.
2) I take the dealer to the appraiser tomorrow morning and then give him cash.
What should I do?
