Pavilion angle/height & Crown angle/height

Can someone help me to understand what I should be looking for in a Princess cut diamond... with regard to the Pavilion and the Crown, albeit height and/or angle percentage?

I have read many posts here and this seems to be a deciding factor, after determining the depth & table, as to how much fire & brilliance the diamond has.

I will be looking at the actual stones this weekend at Jeweler''s Row in Chicago. Is this something I should be able to visibly see, if it''s good? Or is there a range for an ideal that I should get some sort of documentation on to know I''m not getting a raw deal?

dave atlas has good info on his website regarding different diamond cuts. look under the "aga cut grade charts and rules". there you will find the current cut guidelines for princess.

I checked Atlas'' website, where you mentioned, and it doesn''t come out and give a number or a percentage for those at all. It lists the other info, such as depth, table, etc... but ntohing specific on pavilion angles and crown angle (height.)

Is there something I''m missing? Do I have to do some sort of calculation based upon these other numbers?
