Pave setting for Emerald Cut Diamond?

Any thoughts on a simple Pave setting (no halo) for an Emerald Cut Diamond? I have read that the diamonds on the band will take the focus away from the center diamond, due to the lack of "sparkle" on the Emerald Cut. I haven't seen any in person so I have no idea...

I don't think it will take away. My pave enhances my diamond. It's a matter of proportion.

I don't think it takes anything away from the centre stone at all....but I may be slightly biased

diamonds in the shank in general no, i dont think they distract when they are small pave.

I prefer this type of diamond shank with step cuts, the hard edge matches the hard lines of the emerald cut
