Paging winternight - Are you still loving your Costco hoops?

Hi winternight,

I am seriously thinking of ordering up a pair and wanted to check in to see if you have had any problems with them since purchasing.

I had the lovely experience of seeing winternight's earrings in person, albeit about a year ago. I remember them being unbelievably sparkly, and huge!

I just read that thread and wondering the same thing! Costco has them in stock and i see another PS'er just bought the WF version for his wife.

I am trying to figure out if the costco ones they look more like regular diamond hoops, or more like huggies. I know the costco stones are bigger, but any ideas about the diameter?

The Costco website indicates "Length: Just over 5/8 inch". I'm having the same debate as winternight...can't decide!

Hi everyone, thanks for the nice compliments. I still love my earrings and wear them often. On my ears they are somewhat between hoops and huggies but I think people's ear lobes vary. Probably they are more like huggies. I sort of wear them as a diamond stud stand-in because I don't have diamond studs. I haven't had any problems and I've been wearing them often.

Costco has a great and easy return policy so why not see them in person?

I ordered them since it was free shipping and they will be here by end of week! I wish I could compare to the WF ones... but I don't feel like getting those and then paying for shipping in case I return them. I want smaller huggies rather than larger ones... but it is hard to resist more ct weight for same price, ya know?! Luckily at my local costco they had smaller diamond huggies that had shared prong with three diamonds for each earring and the stones were 19 pointers each. Those sat really close to ear so if these ones are too big... I am trading for the 6 stone version, 1.14 ct weight, for $1600.

Ahhh.... so H, whom I def consider a diamond snob (in a good way!), you agree with winter that there is no apparent difference with the costco stones versus ACA when it comes down to stones that are under 20 points????

Ahhh.... so H, whom I def consider a diamond snob (in a good way!), you agree with winter that there is no apparent difference with the costco stones versus ACA when it comes down to stones that are under 20 points????

I didn't loupe or backlight them but they are a great size and very sparkly.

I was in Ft. Laud, but we didn't get to Miami. Too crazy with the holidays. I will be in NYC next week but only for a day. I'm still considering the winter antiques show.

Green with Envy -- Did you wind up ordering the same ones that winternight has, the 1.45 ctw version? I'd love to see yours once you get them! Or are yours 1.14 ct total. My Costco doesn't have these earrings.

I saw the same ones that winter has at my local store. I agree the diamonds look pretty darn good. I do own ACA studs and i would have no problem buying the costco ones. The only thing for me is that the overall hoop was too large. It is not quite a hoop, it is a tad oval shaped, but it is not as small as a huggie. I think if you wear your hair down a lot then the 1.45ct ones would be AWESOME. i just didn't like that i cold see a lot of metal on the backside (but I wear my hair up a lot).

i got smaller ones (1.18 ct) that are smaller than a dime in diameter. They are also shared prong, but only have three diamonds on each earring rather than 5... so they are not as long. The sit super close to my ear lobe like traditional huggies. My store had these ones.

They are I color and even from the sides I can't see any color and I am VERY color sensitive with diamonds. i don't see tiny arrows, but they do sparkle and for the size I think they are good.

It seems like the Wf ones are a tad smaller in diameter and more narrow since the stone are smaller. I think you get more bang for your buck with the costco ones, but I never saw the WF ones except in pictures.
