Hey Girl,
Did I read somewhere that you are heading to NYC this month?? DH and I are going there on Oct. 25th and will be there a week! It will be my first time there. :appl: If/when are you going, and do you have any fun plans while you are there?? I am trying to put together our itinerary. I'd love to hear what you guys are doing and where you're staying!!

Hey DG!! We are flying in mid day on Oct 29, Oct 30 is officially declared Diamond District Day (just so DH knows that we have a full day of diamond browsing - preparing him WELL in advance!!) On that day, I want to visit IDJ, LJN and DBL for sure... after that, I'm open to anything! :-) The 31st and Nov 1 will be the touring around days plus a bit after we've arrived and checked in to our hotel on the Monday. We depart early on the 2nd, so we have to pack it all into 3 days (well, DD being the holiest day of the visit, you know. Tee hee!)

We have yet to book a hotel, but thinking it will be one of the Kimpton's, as we stayed in a fantastic one in Scottsdale this past July.

No fixed dates or plans but here's the run down of what he'd like to see, based on input from my one and only NYC trip in 2010 with the women in my family:
-Grayline hop on/hop off tour for 2 days (Oct 31/Nov1)
-9/11 Memorial (have to book your tickets in advance and they are in 1/2 hour increments)
-Staten Island Ferry to see "the green lady"
-Anything on Broadway - we'll hit up the discount ticket kiosk on the day of, and get tickets to something. WE've seen a lot of theatre so we are open to anything... mind you, if you hear that Jimmy Smits is performing --- ***THAT'S*** the show I want to see :lickout: :naughty:
-He is debating between Rockefeller centre or Empire State Building, to see the city - just have to decide on 1 not both
-Walk 5th Ave,
-Central Park - maybe a caleche ride, maybe just wander, undecided
-The PlaZa hotel - I want to have tea there and find Eloise!!! (ya, I know she's a fictional character, but hey... favourite kids book when I was young, and all that....!)
-Probably dinner at The Russian Tea Room - 'pre theatre prix fix' for $60 each and enjoy a flight of vodka's while we're there... just sayin' ;))

All that stuff is do-able, just have to sort out the order of it all.

Any chance we'll be there together on any of those dates?? If yes - lets meet up!!! (AND BRING THE JEWELS AND THE HAWT DH!!)

How totally FUN!!
We are flying in on the 25th and flying home on Nov. 1st. So we will definitely have a few days that overlap with you. We will be with another couple, but they are super fun and easygoing.

We don't really have an itinerary yet. We will be staying at the Marriott Marquis in Time Square (Marriott points!!) and we are just starting to put together our "must do" list.

I think we are going to take a Real New York Tour, they are highly recommended on TripAdvisor. (Realnewyorktours.com) We will hopefully be able to do the private 6-hour tour on Friday (our first full day there) and the guide will take us on foot and by subway to a TON of different sites and tell us all about them. Then we can decide what places we want to go back to and spend more time at. But I love being able to include site-seeing, and a history lesson, and insider-tips from a local all in one tour! (Did it on bicycles in Amsterdam and London and it was awesome!!)

I also have a friend that I went to high school with who will be performing in a brand new Off-Broadway play called Ahoy, Able Brown. We already have tickets for this, just need to decide which performance to attend.

We are also considering seeing Wicked. I've heard great things! I have also heard great things about Rock of Ages and Mama Mia. (And of course, Le Mis and Phantom.) We haven't made a decision yet.

I don't know anything about the Diamond District. (I know, shame on ME!!) But I'd love to learn about it and spend some time there! Maybe we could meet for lunch in the DD on the 30th??

Sounds like you have some great things planned! I will have to add them to my list of possibilities! Oh... And I have been told twice that we should choose Rockefeller over Empire State.

Are you on Facebook??

DG - lets meet at IDJ at 930 when they open!! never mind lunch!!! We could be lucky and other PSers may join us along the day  of course, maybe a lunch could be involved, I'm just thinking, lets maximize our time viewing the goodies 47th st has to offer!!

I hope we do get to meet - that would be wonderful! I am on FB but I'm not very good about checking in/ logging in unfortunately!

What?? I didn't say anything!! :naughty:

done!!!

delete as required!

Sweet!! So I will expect to hear from you... :wavey:

 :appl:

And I just looked at a map and my hotel is literally 2 blocks from 47th street and the Diamond District!! I can walk there!!
I don't even know which places I want to visit. But I want to try to find a cool vintage something. Maybe an OEC?? Or a bracelet or pair of earrings.
And maybe some Christmas gifts. :appl: woot woot!!!

"heaven... I'm in Heaven"... 47th St has to be the equivalent of Christmas morning to a 6 year old, when you are a PSer!!!

Totally and utterly jealous!!!

Have a blinging day girls!!!! :wavey:

Can I butt in and mention that the top of the rockefeller is waaaaay less crowded (the views are top notch) then empire state. I did both and the latter was really really packed out and we waited in line for over an hour.

I also loved riding "the beast" (very fast speedboat) that goes round to the statue of liberty (doesn't let you off there though)
