Is this a bad thing? It''s apparently a colourless inclusion. I''m such a novice I wouldn''t know looking with the naked eye.

Trouble is once it is set and you know where it is in reference to prongs etc, you will see it on days with cloudy sky's and in shopping centers etc.
But if that will not worry you - go with it

I actually did look at the ring outside in the natural light, and it's been a stormy afternoon here in Brisbane, rather cloudy, and I couldn't see anything bad. But then me = untrained.

The diamond was an F colour if that makes any difference?

My BF is really in two minds about this now, but I keep pointing out that we didn't notice any imperfections and nobody else would either.

I also seem to be reading conflicting information on the internet about P1. Some sites have said this isn't gem grade, others have said it won't affect the brilliance of the stone.

So close to getting my e-ring and now so far!

P1 (I1 for our USA friends) does not usually affect light return.

Garry, why would cloudy skies and shopping mall lights make that type of inclusion more noticeable? I'm curious.

less scintillation maybe?

bumping for Garry to answer my question.

MMM is correct.
You can see 'inside' the diamond.
Spot lights blind you with flashes and you can not see what is gong on.
Back light helps to see inclusions too

I didn't understand MMM's response but now I see.

Thanks for answering my question!

The stone in question was a F colour, but we've been advised to definitely steer clear of it.

Now we've got 0.57 H SI and two pears of 0.28 each at G SI. I'm happy with that.
