Oval Cuts

I noticed someone had posted a question regarding an oval cut. I too just found out that the young lady I''m seeing wants an oval cut. I haven''t looked at one until yesterday and defienlty need help in knowing what to look for in a high quality cut for this type. Please help. I''m new on this site today so I want know anyone''s user names or anything please let me know how to get in touch in you can help me.

Hey Gone2SeeU, welcome to Price Scope!!!

I suggest that being new, you do a search for ovals on this site and read up everything you can. Before reading all that thought, maybe you may want to get a good idea of the cut and quality by looking at Price Scope Tutorials:

Also, when looking for better dimension to stick to, you can use the AGA cut charts for ovals as follows:

Thanks for the info. I tried to use a cut grading report on line and it is asking for the CROWN Height %. This info doesn't appear on the GIA cert I looked at is there someway I can figure it from the info I have or does GIA just not report this information?

The GIA cert. does not give crown height. You get this info from a Sarin report, which some jewelers offer.

I just purchased an oval, and I'm going to post my story on another thread.
