Of those, I''d only consider the first one because it is the only one that is ideal cut. It looks good. Use this price search and put in excellent-excellent for cut and check GIA and AGS for labs. Thsi will narrow down the selection a lot.

I agree. And actually, I''d want to see an IS of that diamond, it doesn''t look so hot in the pic. Bordering on steep/deep and may be a tad leaky.

I couldn''t find anything I liked there, but here''s a couple. Need to ask if eyeclean. 5% off with PS discount.

That first diamond is most interesting. It gets a zero for light performance from AGS Lab but scores a 3.4 on the Holloway Cut Advisor. I''d have to go with AGSL on this one.... Maybe some steep/deeps aren''t so bad.

What about these?

I feel like I am in information overload and no longer even know what I am looking for!! Thanks for your opinions. I appreciate it; I am still learning...
That one from JA is a rather interesting stone. First, I don't know if you caught it, but it's an FIC. (firey ideal cut) Which means this stone will have a bit more fire than your typical ideal cut. It also has very strong fluorescence, which many people love, and that's probably knocking the price down some (check on the color of flo). It could be a beautiful stone, but I would recommend seeing it in person before you make a final decision. If interested, you could have it and one of the others sent to an independant appraiser to compare them. (of course this is all contingent on it being eyeclean)

Of the other two, I'd pick the J VS2. I'm all for SI2's as they can be a great vlaue. But in this case, it's a difference of less than $200.00 between that one and the other. So I'd pick the better clarity. The difference in size is negligible.

The VS2 stone only has a GIA certificate. I did not realise that when I first posted. Based on what I have read I should not purchase without AGS certificate if possible?

I am thinking that the following two are maybe my best bet if eye clean and the fluorescence is not a sticking point in the James Allen stone. The James Allen stone is obviously considerably cheaper...

For a newbie am I on track or have I got this all wrong?

Jess, I don''t know what you read, but there is nothing wrong with a GIA graded stone. Granted, they are not all created equal, but there are outstanding stones graded by them, and I own one.

Besides, WF is a very reputable company, with quality a high priority. They would not sell "undesirable" stones.

So, I stick with my prior post.

I would really appreciate some more feedback...

The James Allen diamond is a no go...not good feedback from their rep. They recommended this stone instead;

I am still waiting to hear back from Whiteflash on these two;

The SI2 stone has an inclusion that can be seem at 25cms. It is a better cut and color than the VS2 but I think I am leaning towards the VS2. Do think that the VS2 will still have plenty of sparkle?

If you mean the J VS2 you posted from Whiteflash, it would be a superb choice, as would the I ACA diamond if eyeclean. The J SI1 from James Allen also looks good and is another FIC!

Just depends which diamond ticks most of your boxes Jess, but they are all great contenders.
