My curiosity is getting the best of me on this stone and I'd like some opinions, expert and other.

Some of you might know from some of my previous posts why it's making my mouth water, besides the obvious color. Those skinny arrows from the long LGF's really have me intrigued. BTW, I already don't expect it to be eye-clean, after all it is an I-1.

Thanks all. :wavey:

Very nice. Very bright.
Might not have a lot of fire.

I'm just curious as to why it may not have a lot fire? I must be missing something here, even on the HCA it gets an excellent for fire.
(I'm not challenging just inquiring to increase my knowledge please)

The long lower girdle facets often reduce the amount of fire from the stars.

Thanks Garry!

When you say "reduced fire", how drastic do you mean? So much it would look strange in comparison to a more average ideal cut? Would it be obvious at first glance or just to us diamond nuts?

Anyone else care to chime in?

Thanks all! :wavey:

Probably not 'obvious' unless you had 2 clean diamonds of the same size and proportions except for longer and shorter lower girdle facets side by side.

Its a near tolk with slightly longer Lower Girdle Facets.
The differences in fire comes mainly from the width of the arrows. With 85% avergae LGF they are thinner and longer, thus smaller flashes of fire over the shorter fatter arrows. I wouldn't say say this diamond will be appreciably brighter or have appreciably less fire but some suttle differences in some lighting.

This is a a particular flavour of Superideal round that displays hearts and arrows and near perfect optical symmetry. The hearts have a cleft due to the longer lower girdle facets.

What would concern me though is the clarity and how eye clean it is. You would have to ask a gemo at GOG to example closely, define a distance, lighting, and viewing angle or view in person to determine that.

I would wager you'd see the difference easily enough Ande with two stones as Garry describes.
It's - in admittedly poor terminology - the diff btwn one stone that twinkles and flashes white with the slightest movement and another that shoots out fewer, but much more intense light bolts..one twinkles, and you stare at it mesmerised by the constant white flickering, the other doesn't have so much going on until a flash blinds you..
