I'm not very familiar with what makes a good Radiant cut. Octavia is my dream cut, and my second preference would be an Asscher or square Cushion, but there is a very limited selection of lab grown, light blue diamonds, 1.5-2.25 cts. This is one candidate. What do you guys think? Any concerns about the ratios or numbers? I haven't seen it in person yet.

I looked at the cert, but to judge a radiant, you really need to see it in motion. Does the vendor have a video available?

Thanks RockySalamander. I have videos but I don't know how to upload them. It says the .mov extension isn't accepted.

I’m no expert in radiants but this gave me pause and it’s visible in 3 of the videos. That dark ring around the inside of the table.
The colour is beautiful and it’s very sparkly. I might also suggest that radiants are a very different look if you love step cuts. But if the colour is the most important thing, I guess you have to take what you can get!

Foxinsox, thanks for pointing that out. I noticed it too. It's only in the videos with the pave band, so I'm thinking it has something to do with seeing a reflection of the stones underneath.

I'm not set on step cuts, (Octavia and Cushion are brilliant cuts), but I do prefer square over rectangular and smaller tables.

I agree with @foxinsox . That is not caused by a stone that not reflecting light properly. That darkness looks to be there in every sample they sent. The color is lovely, but you'll have to decide if you can live with the cut not showing the stone to its best.

The two by BE look better cut.

Have you thought about a montana sapphire? They come in this paler blue and when well cut, they are amazing.

That would be a big disappointment if it’s the cut. I definitely want a really good cut.

I LOVE Montana sapphire. When I looked years ago I had a hard time finding larger ones. Thank you for the links!!!

EarthsTreasury has larger stones and can likely custom cut something. It is unusual to find huge montanas, but there are plenty of non-montana sapphires that may suit.

Posting a few stones and vendors I follow.

Thank you for the other vendors! I'm familiar with a few of them, but some are new to me. I'm going to have to look more into this. If I could get a custom one in an Octavia cut (it would have to be modified for Sapphire of course), I would be able to finally get my dream ring.:appl:
