To me that sounds very nice- but I am a COMPLETE beginner. I love a G colour, and would prefer to never go lower than Vs2 otherwise I think I would be constantly consuming myself with finding any visible flaw (same if the colour was yellow-ish). It is a nice size too- but I think the experts better advise you whether it is good value- do you have pics?

Like the G VS2. See no reason to go to I VS1.
 
Interesting you say that JulieN. I''ve been leaning more towards Clarity and thinking I probably can''t see the difference between G,H or I. Maybe I''ve been looking through the loupe too much.

And there is a significant price difference. Do you have any opinion on the cut differences?
 
not enough information to comment on cut differences. go with I VS2, then.
 
I like the first one with G color. Are you sure you can''t spot the difference in color? With I, theres a slight yellow tint but some like that.
 
Just found the pictures for the I VS1; looks beautiful.
 
Sorry, but I don''t know how to edit my last post and I meant to answer the color question. I think my eye sight is a poor judge, so I was basing my statement from my reading and the little bit of browsing I have done in the B&M retailors.

I am glad you shared that there is a difference to you, as you may very well represent a much larger portion of the popullation. :)
