I found a diamond that meets most of my criteria and it fits my budget. My only concerns are the ASET image and its clarity. It is a diamond from a super ideal seller but that Asset does not look symmetrical like most other super ideal cuts. I have always read diamonds from this seller have a consistent look, will it still be true in this case?

How will the missing triangles (yellow arrow pointed) and unsymmetrical cut in this diamond effect performances?

Should I pass on this and keep looking?

Do you IRL photo and or video? You can't really judge clarity without IRL photos.

I have set a appointment to see the diamond in person next week. Will update.

There's no problem with the cut. The images look fine, other than I think the clarity may be unacceptable. Do you not have a magnified photo or video of the stone?

It's a beautiful stone as far as cut goes. I personally couldn't handle the clarity, but others might. I am guessing it's SI2?

Yes, Si2. My first CBI SI2 I looked at was perfectly clear in person, that's why I wanted to give this a chance since it was within my budget and a nice G color.

Thanks for your opinions on the cut, do you know what not having those contrasting triangle lines would mean?

.

The H & A pattern is correct.

do you know what not having those contrasting triangle lines would mean?

Always thought they are reflections of facet joints. Would not expect to see them formed symmetrically in a shot, only in simmulated IS or ASET images.

There is more patterning 'in the red' - higher order reflections of the facets & some extra - that are also too sensitive to photographic conditions to take too seriously.

That's just an odd image. If you look on excellent ASET images, such as on Whiteflash, those lines show up as green on an ASET. So I think they are supposed to be there.

Some SI2's have colorless inclusions such as clouds, but this one appears to have dark inclusions which would not be as clean as colorless.

Thank you Valeria for your inputs.
so do you think not having them is anything to worry about? or is it just a bad shot? I wasn't sure because even in the simulated ASET many of the triangles do not have it either.

I guess my last question is with the ASET and Clarity, Buy? or Pass?

Thanks for your inputs diamondseeker.

and If the dark inclusions are eye clean is it worth the Buy it? or Pass?

These details were never part of the 'Super Ideal' deal ... (simmulations have tolerances too ... narrower than mine ! )

E.g. in the IS shot you mention as a benchmark, three of the respective triangles have wider lines ( left of the 12 o'clock arrow; up and down of the 3 o'clock arrow) ... others are narrow. In your stone, there is similar variation - perhaps a hair more of it ? I would be quite surprised to see none at all & call it insignificant exception too.
