Hi all, new here, just starting the engagement ring quest. I was all set to go hit the local jewelry stores until I found this site! Now I''m looking around online. I am still a total novice but here is my situation. I am looking to spend 4-5K on a solitare, most likely a tiffany knife edge style. I have found these diamonds at Niceice and whiteflash. Wondering why the whiteflash one cost less and is slightly larger. Still debating the whole white gold/platinum thing too! :)

thanks for any input!

I''m relatively new also so take my advice with a grain of salt. I purchased my ring through WF and definately recommend them. I haven''t heard of niceice before. And with WF, you get a discount for being a member of pricescope. I was also debating white gold v. platinum and ended up choosing a WF platinum seting. I thought the extra cost was worth it. I don''t remember how much I paid extra but I thought it was money well spent.

I''m sure you''ll get some great advice from some of the professionals around here. Belle and Julie seem very helpful. It''s definately a great site. I made my purchase a few weeks ago and find myself drawn back here on a daily basis.

Good luck!!!

I am in the process of purchasing a stone with white flash and I can tell you the experience has been amazing. If you are going to purchase your diamond this month definately go with white flash--- You get a 5% discount for being a pricescope member PLUS 5% applied toward your setting (it is a special they are running for november). You can see my ring being built here and follow along the process with me. Let me also say that I am a complete novice so definately shop around, but I think I got an excellent deal...

I would like to make a correction to my previous post- the second 5% discount towards the setting only applies to the A Cut Above collection (which I would recommend). Once again I am NOT an expert and probably have done as much or a little more research then you.

The Whiteflash one costs less because the of leakage.

Options at Nice Ice look good.

The WF diamond is a G and the NI, one is an E, and the other an F,isn't that the reason for the price difference, the colour grades?

Well the saga continues! :) Didn''t know I was going to drive myself so nuts at this!

I found a couple others that I wouldn''t mind some opinions on. The price on the first one seems low, I have not had a chance to call WF and discuss it yet but will try this afternoon. The second one looks to be a decent deal for an ES

I was planning to get the setting from WF as well, with the 5% back program they have going now the same setting with smaller ES stone would be about $150 more.

Thanks again! This site has been so helpful.

I like the ACA. The other one is a bit deep, and facing up smaller. For about 90 bucks more, you''re getting a good bit more size, and the discount.
