Hi folks,

Fully fledged newbie here. Trying to pick a setting for an engagement ring. need some help.
Ive been looking for ages. Ive looked around and secretly got her opinion. She seems to be into Sidestones/channell set rings.

Ive two im looking at at the moment, and would love some honest opinions on what yee all think. Im aware that taste is individual
but id still like to see what you all would think.

No1 Bowtie from James allen in Platinum.

Or no 2 (only recently found) channell set Twist from Zoara in Platinum or possibly palladium.

I will be setting either of them with something close to a 1ct round stone.

What do you think between them or opionions on the individually.

Thanks in Advance.

Of the two I like the elegant twist better, both of them seem to have a lot of metal showing though. If she is into side stones/channel set she might be going for the "bling" factor aka less metal more sparkle. Something like this is going to show more sparkle and your center stone is really going to pop

For a side stones option this three stone is absolutely beautiful!

This one is also very pretty and delicate

EDT: have you found a stone yet? If not we can help you with that too!

Personally, I like the twist designs, but unless you are absolutely 100% sure that that is the style she wants, I wouldn't choose any variation of the twist. It is a very, very taste-specific style, and it can be hard to find a wedding band to fit with it. Aside from that, Mrs W has made two very good suggestions. IMO, the WF Legato is one of the prettiest settings around.

This version looks more refined than the James Allen version you posted:

I would choose neither and go with one of the suggested ones above.

I like the one above and the Legato better: http://www.whiteflash.com/engagement-rings/diamond-settings/legato-sleek-line-pave-diamond-engagement-ring-422.htm

I agree that the 'twist' style is tougher to find a matching band and is definitely a matter of taste. If that's what she's said she wants, then by all means, get her what she wants, but if she's said she likes channel set styles, that wouldn't be the first one I'd go for. The Legato has a matching band, too: http://www.whiteflash.com/engagement-rings/wedding-sets/legato-sleek-line-pave-diamond-wedding-set-1477.htm

Platinum is more expensive than one of the options you posted, if there's a hard and fast budget, knowing that would help us find something good. Also, if you need stone suggestions, let us know!

I'm not to keen on either of the ones you picked. Just too much metal showing. If you want twisted, I really like the
Brillant Earth one...less metal, more feminine.

where do you plan to get the diamond? it is easiest to get the diamond and setting in the same place. I much prefer the style of the 1st one but to me it seems a bit bulky.
