Hello all! I bought a diamond earlier in the week and want to get your opinions on it.
Certification: GIA
Shape: Round Brilliant
Measurements: 7.22 - 7.28 X 4.47 mm
Weight: 1.45 carat
Color: J
Clarity: VS2
Cut: Excellent
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Very Good
Fluorescence: None
Depth: 61.7%
Table: 57%
Crown Height: 15.5%
Pavilion Depth: 43%
Crown Angle: 35.0 deg
Pavilion Angle: 40.8 deg
Girdle: Medium - Slightly Thick (faceted) 3.5%
Cutlet: None
So what do you think? It's for an engagement ring BTW. I've had it set in a thin tube platinum solitaire ring with a 6 prong head. I'm planning on proposing on Monday on our first day of vacation.
The stone looks really nice. Looking down on it, it looks white and very reflective, and is a good size. The only time I can pick up a hint of yellow is when looking at it from the side or below at the right angle and in certain lighting. That's the only thing that concerns me. But, to her, size is important (lol) so I sacrificed the color a bit to go larger. The diamond is eye clean - I don't see any inclusions at all. After all is said and done, this ring total cost me just over $6k. So what do you think? Good deal / stone? There is a 30 day return policy, so I'd like some input from you guys.
