I am new to the forum world, though I have been utilizing pricescope in my adventure to find the perfect diamond since September and I must say it has been a huge help, so I thank all of you in advance for your daily input.

I am looking at a 1.8ct CCSB diamond from GOG. Now, don''t get me wrong, Jonathan and Charlie have been amazing with a wealth of knowledge along with great service and I trust them completly but being the engineer that I am, I want as many data points as possible.

I''m basically looking for people''s opinion about the stone as well as any pitfalls to be wary of and if it''s a good value?
Anyway someone could provide me the rapaport pricing for a stone in this category?

Link to stone images and stats: http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/3414

Basics
CCSB 1.8ct with AGS cert (Aug 2007)
Color: F
Clarity: SI2 (though "eye clean")
Polish: EX
Sym: VG
Table: 65.0% (according to report, not website)
Depth: 68.3%
Girdle: Med-S.thk
Flour: None

Cost: $9,959

In terms of what I am looking for is a well cut square radiant/princess 1.5-2ct with E-F (color sensitive) and VS2-SI2 (must be eye clean), figuring thats where I can get the most bang for my buck.

Any input is greatly appreciated, thanks.

Hi Phil,

That is a very pretty diamond, have you discussed it with Jon to make sure it is eyeclean to your standards?

Thanks Lorelei,

Yes actually Jon and I have discussed it, and it really is "eye clean". I have also seen it in person, and was unable to visualize the center cloud until it was about 4-6in away from me and only at certain angles.

Any thoughts on the value?

Thanks, Phil

Value is subjective and depends as we know, I can tell you GOG are competitively priced and if you can find an eyeclean to your standards SI2 then that to me is good value, especially in the larger sizes - colour is of personal preference but an F even in a radiant ( which can show more colour) will look extremely white.

Thanks for your thoughts, I agree value is subjective though everyone has their impression on what is worth putting your money into and what isnt, so that is what I am hoping to get.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Anyone with access to the rapaport be able to run this stone for me? Thanks.

It looks like a beautiful stone to me! I actually like the cut corners better than a princess, and I also like this stone much better than a radiant. Your best bet might be to just compare the price to similarly sized princess cut stones listed in the "search by cut" above.

It looks well-cut and a value for the size. I would make sure it''s eye clean and then snatch it up!

Thanks, I have been looking to compare it between similar stone in princess and radiant. It does seem to fall into the same price range only problem is there are very few stones so tough to compare. That is why I hoped the rapaport pricing could give me a better idea for what the wholesale price on such a diamond is.
