Can anyone please let me know if this sounds like a diamond worth buying? It sounds good to me, but I''m still not as knowledgeable about things like depth, table, and measurements as I should be. I just need some help and want to know if this sounds like a diaomond worth considering? I want to make sure it is cut well and will sparke and all that good stuff.

Here are the specs:

1.08 carats
VVS2 (Loupe Clean)
I Color (White - near colorless)
Polish - Very Good
Symmetry - Very Good
Measurement - 5.70 x 5.44 x 4.17
Depth - 76.7%
Table - 66%

Any advice on if this will be a good looking stone?

Hello,

Did you read the tutorial on pricescope? It'll really help you in your search! Is that a round diamond? If so, it is way too deep! If not, it's probably still way too deep, IMO. You'll lose a lot of spread with a depth like that. Look at the cut charts to see where the numbers should be...

Also, any reason for the VVS2? You'll be paying a lot more money for clarity you don't need. I would suggest going to VS1 or VS2 or even eyeclean SI1 and getting a bigger stone! Most people agree that G/H is the sweet spot for color too -- I don't mind "I", but many people do, so be careful with that.

Try looking on dirtcheap diamonds web site -- they organize their diamonds by cut, so you can easily see which stones are ideal cut. Plus, they have the lowest prices online (in most cases).

Good luck!

I forgot to mention that it''s a princess cut stone and I can get it for right around $3,100!!!

Does that make it sound any better?

Yes, that helps! It would have been bad news if it were a round -- but princess cuts tend to run deep (not that I know much about princess cuts).

Try comparing the numbers to the cut charts on this site. You''ll get an idea on where this stone falls...

Cut aside, I''d still opt for much lower clarity, and slightly better color, and maybe a bigger stone for less money -- unless, of course, you saw this in person and love it.

Good luck!
