Hello PS members,

I have a GIA xxx with 34 crown, 40.8 pavilion and 58% table with a 60% depth. Is this too shallow, and what do you think about the angles??? Also, there was no visible signs of leakage with idealscope. Thanks!

Sounds great! It scored 1.0 on the HCA scale! It scored excellent on light return, scintillation, spread and fire.

I think the stone is great, you could share the idealscope and the quality of the stone to get expert comments.

I am a little concerned with the depth. Will this stone have head shadow? ( I think that's what they call it)

Also, How will it perform compared to a 41.2/ 35.5 combo?

This stone is more in the steep/deep range with high crown and pavilion angles and would be more likely to be leaky than the first one posted. I like the first stone's angles much better!

60 % depth is fine. The angles are good (you already said the idealscope showed no sig leakage).

Those other numbers you posted are not good angles.

Thanks so much for the quick replies!!!

I don't know how to get the picture of the idealscope image, but it doesnt look to have any white, if anything maybe some pink. I hope it is a good cut! I have done a lot of reading but still second guess myself.

Also, what would this type diamond excell in, fire, brightness, etc.???? would it perform in one area better than another?

Forgot to mention the stone is NOT mine yet

I would think that the 34/40.8 would have a good balance of white light and fire.

Who has the stone, can you ask for some IS images and report copy that will help the experts to give their opinions.

Just to let you know, I actually have a GIA XXX diamond, 58% table, 34.0 crown angle, 40.8 pavilion angle, 60.1 depth. I love my diamond. It has incredible sparkle and often looks larger than it's carat size.

Great to know, Cricketcat--thanks!!!

Vishke8, I don't know. I do know I looked at the stone with IS and there was no white at all. That I DO know. THere was a slightly lighter center under the table but slightly lighter
