Hi All,

I am about to purchase a 1.5ct Round Brilliant diamond.

Here are the specs:

1.50 Carat
Color F
Cut - Ideal
VS2 Clarity
Depth: 61.3%
Table: 55%
Symetry: Excellent
Polish: Excellent
Girdle: Thin to Medium
Culet: None
Fluorescence: None
Crown: 35 degrees
Pavilion: 40.6 degrees

I think that about does it. I am real close to pulling the trigger on this for under 13k. I ran this through HCA calculator, and if I did it correctly it came back excellent (.8 if I remember correctly). I am not sure if I did it right.

I never purchased a diamond before, and I want to be sure I have everything covered. If someone can veryify the HCA calculation, I would really appreciate it.
Also, I would appreciate anyones opinions on the overall quality of this.

Thanks so much for the help.

Welcome!

The diamond looks great! Is it with an online vendor?

Yes the HCA score is correct. Just FYI, the HCA is used to eliminate lesser performers not to select stones, basically the aim is to score 2 or below, then such scorers are considered a ' pass' as possibly suitable for purchase until further evaluation with Idealscope images etc. Your diamond has excellent proportions and should be a great looking rock!

Do you have the diameter measurement also please and if possible the lower girdle facet measurement AKA lower halves?

I am working with Mark from ERD. I met with him and he seems terrific. He spent an hour of his time explaining round diamonds and was really helpful.

Being that this is a large purchase for me, I would like a second look by the members of this board. Not that I doubt his proffesional opinion, I just need some confirmation when making a big purchase.

Also it is GIA certified

measurments are 7.36 x 7.41 x 4.53mm (i hope this is what you were looking for)

i am not sure where I can find the other values you asked for.

Is it on the cert?

Thanks!

You can find the other info on the diamond proportion diagram to the right of the report, look to the lower part of the diagram to find it. It would be good to know but don''t worry too much if you can''t find it, you are in good hands with Mark!
