I currently have a 1ct rbc mounted in a solitaire with a wedding band of 9 rbc x 0.11ct in a channet set. I always felt that the solitaire was too plain for me and that i hated the channel set band because of the holes that were left between the diamonds. My husband agreed to have them reset (after wearing them for 5 years) but he wants to reuse the 9 rbc x 0.11ct diamonds for the wedding band. I am very interested by http://www.whiteflash.com/Engagement-Rings/Styles/Diamond-Settings/-Divisi--Diamond-Engagement-Ring-by-WF_1068.htm# and its matching band http://www.whiteflash.com/Wedding_Bands/-Divisi---Diamond-Band_1146.htm. I will not buy the Whiteflash setting but will ask my jewelerer to design me something similar. My questions : Does 0.11 ct diamonds too big for a pave wedding band and ring? For the ring in thought of buying more 0.11ct diamonds and smaller diamonds for the split area of the ring? I really need your opinons and if you think that the diamond are too big for the pave, what are my other alternative ?

Why not have WF design the ring for you? You already like the design of the ring that you reference... In my experience as a 25 year veteran in the business, it is usually easiest to have the designer of a ring tweak it to your liking than ask somebody else to replicate it for several reasons - not the least of which is they already know what the original ring looks like and how the lines of the ring flow - the next being that you''ll be paying your local jeweler to carve the ring from scratch which is usually more costly. Just my two cents.

As far as the pave style of the ring and the use of your eleven pointers, your diamonds probably measure about 3.0 - 3.1 mm in diameter and there will need to be at least 0.5 mm of metal and likely a bit more on each side of the diamonds so the band is going to need to increase in size from 2.5 mm up to about 4.0 - 4.5 mm. Pave setting is pretty much done by pushing small amounts of metal up from the setting over the diamonds to hold them in place and this is not a sufficient way to set a 3 mm stone - so it will require actual prongs.

You indicate that you don''t like the channel setting because of the "holes that were left between the diamonds" are you referring to how far apart the diamonds are set? Or are their holes beneath the diamond that go through the setting? (this is done to enable the jeweler to clean under the diamonds)

I am talking about the holes that are between the diamonds. Since it is round diamonds, it is very hard to have them really close to each other.
