I'm searching for a violet sapphire for my replacement engagement ring. I still have another stone in the back of my mind but am strongly considering this one because it is more affordable and I'm ok with heat. Please give me opinions!
This is a 1.08ct, 5.7mm, $1394 ($1115 w/ discount) heated sapphire.

Do you have pictures of what you have in mind? It is difficult to give you my opinion when you present a candidate but I don't know if this candidate fits the bill/your criteria.

It's a bit dark for my tastes.
I second @chrono request for pictures of the color you like and a budget.

Another vote for too dark. I am a big fan of blue and too dark makes it look almost black vs blue.

Here’s a photo of my ideal color. I’d like a round or a square cushion, probably 5.5mm to 6.5mm, but maybe up to 7mm. Budget preference was $1000-$3000, which is why the ideal one is a bit high at $4200. I could swing that but it’s more expensive because unheated but doesn’t have a GIA or AGL certification of no heat, so I’d have to pay to get that, plus all the shipping.
http://www.jewelryexpert.com/catalog/Cushion-Purple-Violet-Sapphire-232ct-CS8655.htm I’m also slightly worried that this one goes dark/has a window.

If you're looking for a stone like that, they almost always color shift depending on the lighting. Always ask about that as well as additional photos. Tanzanite has that color you're looking for, but it's way too soft for every day wear in a ring. It depends on how careful you are with your jewelry and how often you wear it.

I actually purchased that one last summer but returned it because it was a bit pink for my taste!

Thanks for the review!! I've had my eye on that one but I don't want any pink. :D I see you call it magenta in another post.

OP It is VERY hard to read the color accurately from only a few photos. Once you find a stone you think works, ask for more photos.

I haven't purchased from them, but after visiting their website awhile back, their ads are constantly on websites I visit. Drives me nuts.

How about this one from Brilliant Earth? It’s a bit bigger than I was looking for but I like the color (at least as shown in the photo/video on website. I’ve emailed to ask for hand shots.) Has anyone purchased from them before?

the color is pretty! I don't have any knowledge about them BUT I would be worried that it is going to have a "cross" in the middle. Do you see what I mean? It's like dark areas... but if they don't bother you then great!

I see what you mean about the cross. I hadn’t noticed that before.

It had more color change than I was expecting, but it’s beautiful. I contacted David Klass to design the replacement engagement ring to match my existing wedding band. He just sent pics. I posted in the David Klass bling thread (https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/show-us-your-david-klass-bling.196654/page-27) but here are some pics.

Very Beautiful. Fabulous setting and DK does the most exquisite work.
Trust me, you did the right thing buying the one with your ideal colour.
Many of us, who have gone with NOT our first choice, have regretted it afterwards.
