I have never bought a stone on ebay mainly because I do not feel educated enough to evaluate them. I know many are happy with their purchases from TAN. I've seen beautiful tsavorites on swala and such but $600 and up is out of my budget right now. What do you think of this stone? A green stone is the last color I am really craving at the moment. Please don't hold back if you think it is hideous

It's pretty, but might be darker IRL.

I like it. A little yellow and light saturation for a tsav but that has its own appeal too. The cut is nice the depth is good. That feather inside might be worrisome; it doesnt look like it breaks the surface anywhere but it does make you need to be more cautious how you use it. You should also be cautions posting links to listings that lurkers could buy right out from under you while you get opinions.

Yes VL I know lurkers are out there but I will live with that. If someone else gets it then it wasn't meant to be. Yikes feathers scare me. Is the feather the line seen left of the center on the video?? I was looking to do my first halo

For the price, I think it's a very good buy. Obviously there's a hefty discount for several faults but for the price, I can live with it. Some people like the medium dark tone in their tsavorites; in fact, it is the trade preferred tone. I like mine around medium so that's nothing wrong with that. Saturation is a little light but is still an attractive colour. Cutting is decent and I noticed a good sized booger to one side. Fortunately, it doesn't seem to break the surface and the Portuguese style faceting hides it quite well at most angles.

Oh lordy I pulled the trigger. I figure many have successfully returned to Tan if they did not like the stone. I like the cut and hope it will hide the feather. I hope it doesn't come when we are on vacation.
What do you suggest for a halo setting? I do not have any halo rings

Okay, Chrono, what's a "bogger"?

Oh dear, you've caught my typo before I did. I've edited it but it's too late.

Now I'm embarrassed I asked...

Looks like a really nice stone for the price. Let us know how it turns out!

Ditto. Had I seen it, I might have been tempted!
