Opinion on this 1.26 carat

Looks promising but do not assume it is eye-clean from the image. Ask JA to take a look at it to determine if it is eye-clean, also ask for an idealscope image to double check.

Thanks stone cold! So assuming it is eye clean (I'm going to have it checked) you don't see anything wrong with it?

I was just a little concerned because the price is quite a bit lower than many equivalent stones of its size and color.

Looks good do you know what the inclusions are? Is that a feather between 11 and 12 o'clock? Double check if you are comfortable with this if infact is a feather. Sorry I can't download thed rfeport on my phone

Hi, I saw that as well, but I'm waiting to hear back from JA as to eye cleanness. The certificate, for what it's worth, doesn't show anything. Do you have any idea why this is stone is so cheap (relatively)?

Interesting, for some reason, the report on the JA site doesn't show it. I wonder why the difference, as JA is supposed to be reputable.

Assuming the feather isn't visible, I wasn't even aware it affects durability. Do you mean that it could make the whole stone chip or something?

Thanks again.

Probably low scanning resolution of the report.

Feather can be a problem at this clarity grade especially during setting, which should not be a problem if the stone is to be set by JA. JA's gemologist should be able to advise you on that.

Yup, if I get a stone from them, I'm going to get the setting there too just to make it easier, as their prices seem very reasonable on settings (anyone please correct me if I'm misreading this). I guess the big thing I'm waiting to hear back is whether it's eye clean. If so, the feather doesn't bother me much more than any other inclusion I can't see would.

Anyone else have any different opinions? Thanks in advance.

Sorry for asking so many questions, but is it that the feather is like an air bubble which could crack during setting?

A feather is a crack basically.
