Have any of you seen this setting before?

Link
(there''s a video also)

I''ve been leaning towards changing my 2ct round into a halo setting all these days but I saw this Ritani setting yesterday and it was really pretty. It sets up on the high side but does make the stone pop. Have any of you ever seen this in person? What would be your preference between going with a halo or with this setting? I can''t decide completely so I thought I''d ask everyone else which they preferred. Thanks.

Good morning,

I have seen this in person and it is beautiful. This would be my choice.

Thanks Lauren. Did you find the stone sits a bit high? Would that be an issue?

SR,

I apologize for not responding sooner. The stone does sit somewhat on the higher side, but for this particular setting that is the beauty of the look. Their settings are displayed with CZs so if you can find a local jeweler that carries this product and can try it on you''ll get a good idea of the fit and hight. Like with any piece of jewelry you purchase you need to think about your lifestyle, is this something you will wear everyday, etc. It is beautiful in person and I would definately recommend taking a look.

The setting is very pretty. The only concern is whether or not it is hard to clean when it gets dirty - it seems to side stones are very close to the center stone.

Are you hard on your rings, intend to wear your ring everyday all the time? Both diamond halo settings and that Ritani are going to get knocked about and the melee damaged (and possibly more) if so. That setting is a lifestyle choice, it''s beautiful, and I too have seen it in person, but that head sits up like it''s just begging to be knocked around, IMO.

For the record, I am hard on my rings and I do have a halo. I only wear mine out of the house (in the house it''s locked away) Mine is platinum and has a plain shank... both of which help. But still, I have to careful with it. I cracked one of my stones and damaged the metal is sat in one night when I wore it to bed (I was tired and didn''t realize that I was wearing it) and hit it against the headboard... so, just be aware that any setting you get either has to fit your lifestyle... or you have have to alter your lifestyle (or the wear habits of the ring) to accomodate the setting.

I''d hate for you to get a ring and be unhappy when you realize that you have to keep it in a box most of the time, unless you are prepared for that. I was, so I''m fine with it. But there have been quite a few posters who have gotten higher maintanence settings and been REALLY unhappy.
