I just got the CAD images today and am looking for suggestions. I am not sure if the center stone needs to be raised a bit higher to have the finger hugging effect. Will that cuase any durability or cleaning problem? Comments and suggestions are welcome! Thanks!

That is divine. I wouldn't change a thing. But I am not good at designing rings. But I love it. The profile is gorgeous.

Perfection; I would not tweak a thing.

Proportions look stellar and the trellis curves look great. Another vote to leave it as is!

Hey whosurdaddy...

Out of curiosity, what are the specs on your solitaire and side stones?? (did I miss this thread or are you holding out on us??) ;))

I think it looks beautiful!

Gorgeous and very elegant.

I wouldn't raise it higher. I think that would actually look awful. Keep it as is.

Don't tweak a thing!! It looks perfectly balanced and gorgeous graceful curves. I think if you tilt the side stones, you'll get a wonky finished ring. This seems as though it would gently wrap around the curve of your finger. I say leave it alone!

Hello! Your ring is absolutely beautiful! My post is more of a learning moment for me, so I apologize for inquiring in this thread. When I look at the profile, I see the bars that go across each of the side diamonds. Please educate me on why that is necessary because, for me personally, the look of the profile is something that I really pay attention to, and when I look at this profile, I notice immediately the bars instead of the overall design. I'm assuming they are there for structural purposes, and for that, I understand. Just wondering if anyone can help me to understand further.

Thank you! And again - truly a beautiful ring.

There are two "faces" - the one you're looking at, A, and the one that's facing away from you on the other side, B. In the WF design (based on the CAD I assume BGD will cast this in exactly the same way WF would, but perhaps there are differences that the CAD doesn't show) the baskets are there for stability between the end-prong and inner-prongs of each sidestone on each face and also between FaceA and FaceB. The two long trellis wires on each face supporting the center
A) meet to form the end-prong, and
B) are stabilized by the baskets on the opposite side of the center that join the FaceA inner-prong and the FaceB inner-prong on each endstone.

I had not considered getting rid of them when I had Butterflies made originally but I must say I LOVE the idea! I imagine you'd need thicker, sturdier prongs all around and some way to secure FaceA and FaceB of the center basket... and you'd need to gracefully end or continue that center crown-prong... maybe even continue it all the way around solitaire-style?
If it's do-able I think this would be a very unique and beautiful ring.

Thank you to those who further explained things to me! That all makes complete sense now. I assumed that the primary purpase of the "bars" below the side stones were there for a reason, and to provided added structure to the prongs and overall ring makes a lot of sense. They definity don't take away from the beauty of the ring - I just noticed them and thought I'd ask for some clarification from you smart PSers!! :) :)

Thanks again!!

Looks good to me!

Hi Christina, I saw a 3-stone trellis by BGD here and decided to inquire them about it. They got back to me with a quote real quick and I picked out the side stones which I intend to make them into studded earrings when I upgrade the center stone in a few years. They have done many of the same design, it's not really custom anymore.

Just out of curiosity though, can I ask why you decided to have BGD copy the design instead of just having WhiteFlash create it for you?

Can you tell us the sizes of the three stones used in this ring? I think it looks fabulous - I wouldn't change a thing!
