On the hunt for a well cut spinel - $200 budget - possible??

Hi everyone

I am on the search for a gorgeous spinel - anything in the blue/purple range in just about any shape except trilliant or pear - I have a budget of $200 for the stone, is it possible or am I dreaming??

I am not sure I have the confidence to choose something myself for my first purchase and would love something PS recommended

Depending on the size you want, but it certainly should be possible.

If you're willing to tolerate a certain amount of gray in your stone, and depending on the size, it's very doable. You won't get a pure cobalt blue, but you can get some very pretty stones for much less than $200.

i love the colour of this but im not sure about the cut?? I would say cut is the most important factor to me for this purchase so maybe i should be looking on the cutters websites?

(I like the emerald best of these, the rest aren't really calling to me, but ymmv. I also like the blue Tunduru round on his front page, but somebody already grabbed that one. I'd probably just email Dan and see if he had any suitable rough he might be willing to cut into something new.)
