To all,

I recently got engaged and the ring I gave my soon to be wife was my great grandmothers wedding ring. It is about 80 years old. I live in Jacksonville FL and my fiancee lives in Tampa. I have been trying to get it appraised but have had trouble finding someone who knew anything about Old Miner''s cut stones. Is there anyone who may be able to point me in the right direction? Thanks

Welcome and congrats!

Neat to be able to pass an heirloom along!

Is Sarasota, FL near you? Richard Sherwood is very highly regarded by posters in this forum.

If not, consider clicking on the resources button at the top of the page, select appraisers, and look for one near you. I did not see one specifically in Tampa or Jacksonville.

ETA:
looks like Tampa is about an hour away - it would be worth the trip to me!

I second the Richard Sherwood recommendation. Sarasota is quite close to Tampa. I would email him and tell him about your diamond.
