Okay, it's been two years...

Okay, it's been two years...since I joined this forum and I've been afraid to ask this question. Gulp. How in the heck do I post a photo to my avatar????? I've read the instructions and it does not work for me. I write html code and run my own web site for Pete's sake, so why oh why can't I figure this out?

It is seriously driving me nutso to be a question mark/ non-person/ non-diamond in my avatar here. Please help.

Click on "Welcome, MyDiamondSparkles" at the top of the page > "Edit" tab > "User Profile" underneath the tabs > then upload a profile picture > "Submit" at the bottom of the page.

I am not sure what the instructions say to do and so if they're the same as what I've written, I apologize.

In the upper left corner of this screen click on "Welcome, MyDiamondSparkles"



Then click on Edit



Then click on User Profile. (lower-right corner of above pic)
Then click on Choose File towards the bottom of the pic below.



Then click on Upload



Note, your file type can only be the following formats: jpg jpeg png gif
Your file size must be not too large . . . 25 KB?
I forget the maximum file size but if it does not work, just save a copy that is a smaller file size.

Also if your avatar happens to already be a perfect square, fine.
If not, if it is a long rectangle PS will stretch it horiz or vert to make it a pefect square.
That can change your round diamond into an oval, your skinny body/face into a fat one or your fat body/face into a skinny one.
Poster beware.

Okay, seriously...I don't know why I made that so hard. I could never find the User Profile thing to click on--and again today I sat and looked for it for 10 minutes then finally found it.

And Kenny, I was skimming thru this forum the other day and I do wish you would write and tutorial for macro photography. I write free tutorials myself and I know how much time goes into them and in turn how many people find them useful and are appreciative. I also saw your post about starting a jewelry photography business. I say go for it! About 5 years ago I turned what was a hobby into a full time, world wide business. It's been amazing! I will say though that when you turn a hobby into a business it's fun for a while, then it turns into a whole 'lotta work....lol. I do still love it though. ")

I'm glad you were able to upload an avatar! If you have trouble finding something on a page in the future, you might try Ctrl + F to launch the browser search function.
