Well, Lane and I have been talking about getting engaged a lot lately. I know that it's going to happen sometime in the spring and I'm really not worried about it happening.

What's killing me is he's so secretive about the ring! I've kept him updated with my thoughts on what I want occassionally during the last few months. So, last week I e-mailed him several stones I was lusting after on JBEG, and made sure to note that my favorite was a specific OMC. An OMC that as of two days ago is listed as sold!

I am going crazy wondering if it's my stone or not! :naughty: I should just stop stalking their site, but I love vintage stones and I'm dyingggg for one.

I just wanted to come whine to you all because I know you understand!
 
Heh, it's got to be frustrating to see stone be bought and don't know if you missed out on them or if the SO has secretly bought them.

It would be so cool if he did buy that one! I sent my guy a stone on GOG and some settings from Leon M. lol when I called Leon yesterday he said his last ring in that style had been purchased! I know K didn't buy it but a teeny part of me hopes that he did! lol

Oh my goodness, Meg - I'm not really one to place a lot of trust in coincidences, but something about that stone being sold so quickly screams that he bought it for you! Tons of dust coming your way!!!!

I feel your pain, my guy is being secretive too. I keep sending him more links to stones and one day he says he looks at them, the next he says he ignores them :nono: :nono: And I too am going crazy :angryfire:
 
I love vintage stones too! My favorite is OEC I just love it's facets. I've got a whole document telling SO what stone I want clarity,cut,color and size and the ring design I want from JBEG. I just hope he remembers that and gets me what I want. I just love her rings and those stones. I saw just saw and OMC 1.68 cts I just looked on the site and it finally sold. It was beautiful so I was sure someone was going to pick it up sooner or later. Erica can always source a stone for you and she finds the most beautiful stones. I just hope for you it's sooner than later and you get what you want good luck. I hope he took the hint and bought that stone for you. ******DUST****
 
I feel your pain!!! I have been stalking an august vintage round on GOG website and my partner has taken particular interest in it. If it sells in the coming weeks it will be like torture not knowing if he's bought it or not... I know what its like to be ogling something for so long and then it be gone! Its a mixture of excitement and dispointment, a very strange feeling! :angryfire:

I bet he's bought it... and if he hasnt i bet he's disapointed he missed out and is finding another one for you!!! DUST :appl:

That's the stone in question!!

It's been several days, so it's less agonizing than last week, but I still hate the waiting. Hate. Hate. Hate. And he is loving this! I've been really good though, and I didn't mention the sold stone to him, even though I want to!

I need chocolate.
 
I think you are being very good not asking him about it. I would drop a little hint to say that if the stone did sell they can source another one just as fabulous for you. That way he won't panic if he sees its gone.

Womp, womp. I found out just a little bit ago that the stone went to a lucky PSer. I had my doubts. I'm so glad I know, I will keep looking and forwarding him links.

I do like your suggestion Maisie! That way he can be aware how quickly a beautiful stone can go. Next time I'm in love with one (especially with such a fabulous price) maybe he'll act on it! :naughty:
