#TBT Octagonal Five-Stone by DK

This ring has been a long time coming! I had all the stones collected a couple of years ago and planned to have it made for our 10th anniversary two years ago. But instead of getting a ring, we got a new house and new bathrooms took precedence over new jewelry for a while. Now, 2 years later, I finally got around to getting the ring made. I reached out to David Klass in early April and the ring was done well before the 35-day time frame he promised. Working with David was even easier than expected, he just knew exactly what I wanted from our very first communications. It only took one minor CAD change before we finalized it. The ring is everything I envisioned in my head and the workmanship is fantastic, I really couldn't be more pleased! The first few glamour shots from David were taken before he added milgrain to the gallery, thought I'd post so you can see the difference.

Some stats on the ring. The stones are .27-.45-.60-.47-.28 OECs, H-G color (the center is an EGL certed F, appraised as a G). All Ebay and DB finds, that took a couple of years to put together, but I actually enjoyed the hunt. They're pretty perfectly matched for size but not the cut, some have much larger culets, but I kind of like that each little stone has its own personality.

I'll add hand shots shortly, it's really dark and rainy here today and hard to get good photos.

GearGirly - I'd only recommend collecting stones for a project like this if you have lots of time and patience and don't mind many trips to the post office to ship back the stones that won't work. Make sure there's a return policy or the price is good enough to sell whatever doesn't work without much loss!
