I''m obsessed with my hunt today. I thought I''d start a new post so readers wouldn''t have to scroll far to find the specs on the stones I''ve found. Parameters: 7.55mm width and sparkly! I think I''m more concerned about color than I was previously because it seems that quality cut may not help a stone with a lower color grade face up bright (not white, bright).

Today''s Stone #1:

1.58ct E I1 (not sure how eye clean this one is)
Width: 7.48mm
Length: 7.52mm
Depth: 4.62mm
AGS Cut Grade: Ideal
Polish: Ideal?
Symmetry: Ideal?
Table Percentage: 54.4%
Depth Percentage: 61.6%
Crown Angle: 34.1°
Crown Depth: 15.4%
Pavilion Angle: 40.8°
Pavilion Depth: 43.1%
Flourescence: Neg

Today''s Stone #2:
1.50ct K VS2
Width: 7.30mm (actually too small, but within my budget)
Length: 7.34mm
Depth: 4.47mm
AGS Cut Grade: Ideal
Polish: Ideal
Symmetry: Ideal
Table Percentage: 60.9%
Depth Percentage: 61.1%
Crown Angle: 35.6°
Crown Depth: 14%
Pavilion Angle: 40.8°
Pavilion Depth: 43%
Flourescence: Strong Blue

Today''s Stone #3:
1.65ct J VS2
Width: 7.59mm
Length: 7.58mm
Depth: 4.74mm
AGS Cut Grade: Ideal
Polish: Ideal
Symmetry: Ideal
Table Percentage: 53.00% (seems kind of small?)
Depth Percentage: 62.5%
Crown Angle: 33.5°
Crown Depth: 16.6%
Pavilion Angle: 40.2°
Pavilion Depth: 43.00%
Flourescence: None

Thanks in advance for looking/opinions!

The angles on the J seem wrong. Also, "diamond is no longer available."

The E and J are good. Is the K really an AGS 0, light performance? I can't pull up a report on that one, and the angles are no where near AGS cutting guidelines, but it sometimes happens.

I currently have J on hold since I already seemingly missed out on two other potentials, one by 24 hours, and the other by only 30 minutes!

Hence why obession has kind of set in. :p

Thanks for your thoughts, though!

I don''t like the angles on the J and K at all.

The E looks good from what you''ve got, but things are missing. The big question there is how visable the inclusion is.

You posted while I was.

Raivyn, I''d really recommend waiting for WF''s new shipment.

Is your setting an antique design, by chance? If so, I think the small table on the J stone might be nice. That stone would be my choice of those three. But I''d like to see a picture of it.

Thanks again, Ellen! I''m very grateful for your interest in my search!

BTW, I have a copy of the K''s cert, and it states the cut grade as AGS0.

I emailed Leslie, and WF isn''t expecting anything like the J I posted earlier coming in anytime soon.

I''m not in a rush, so if it takes awhile for the right stone to arrive, so be it. But I''m just....preoccupied, I guess, with the search, especially since two great possibilities came and went within 24 hours!

I responded to your post last time, and I really think you should consider lowering your carat weight to get a better diamond. And when I say that, I''m not just refering to the color--a lot of people enjoy warmer diamonds...I''m talking about the cut in and of itselfs...as JulieN and Ellen both kindly pointed out...the angels of the diamonds aren''t good.

I think buying a diamond should be just about size, or color, or clarity...it should be about striving for the best you can afford in general and allowing all aspects of the diamond to be important. I think you''re really stuck on the size, and your compromising in areas you dont really have to.

I mean no disrespect with this posting, and I''m sure your ring will be lovely no matter what route you go...but you asked for opinions...

Here is my ring....I posted it once on a bridal forum, and the photo was HUGE. Sorry, this is my first pic post, if its hard to view.

Let''s try again.

Try renaming the picture.

You might also need to reduce the size. Be sure it is no bigger than about 4 x 6 inches or so.

Ellen, you''re a God-send! Thanks for that link!

Another try!

I think when I first saw the ring it had an 1.61 S colored stone mounted in it.
