NYC Appraisal referral

Can anyone suggest a reputable appraiser (diamond) in New York City? Approximately how much should I expect to spend for the appraisal?

I''d like to verify the quality & value (did I get what I paid for...) of the GIA cert diamond prior to completion of payment (I''ve got 7 days).

Chendy, PriceScope's list of appraisers (above) shows Theresa Beltrani in Long Island and Barry Block in Garden City.

In addition you might check out David Wolf of "Just Appraisers" in Manhattan.

I recently went to an appraiser who was listed in the Pricescope's list of appraisers. I went to Deborah Villepigue who charged $90 per session. The diamond never leaves your sight, and she has Saturday hours which I found convenient. She is listed under Barry S. Block's firm. www.jewelryjudge.net/block.htm

I recommend Justin Krall at Manhattan Appraisers at 43 West 47th. Justin is quite reasonable for a Manhattan appraiser and is very knowledgable and generous with his time. I recommended him to a few people on Pricescope. Someone mentioned his experience with Justin recently and was very favorably impressed. You can find the thread here.
I have had several appraisals done in the Diamond District and I felt he was the best in that he was most informative and great to work with.

I have a friend, RObert Aretz, located in the same building as David Wolf, on 5th Ave. who is a very good appraiser to also recommend..... Finally, we seem to be getting a nice list of NYC area appraisers to recommend.
