Normal Cushion cut vs Daussi Cushion cut - price difference

Hello all! I''ve been spending most of the day searching the forums for an answer to my question, but no luck, so I''m asking it here.

I''m wondering if Daussi cut diamonds are priced higher than normal cut diamonds.

For instance, I was given a price of 7500 for a 1.12 Daussi Cushion cut G VS2, but when I search in diamond engines online, I see that normal cushion cuts around those same specs are almost 2k lower.

So just curious if the Daussi cut is a premium cut. Thanks!

Online prices will of course be cheaper, and branded cuts carry a premium.

The prices are basically the same. Cushions are very difficult to compare based on only specs for each cushion may look totally different from another. Also, Was that the price for just the diamond alone or was it already mounted in a setting?

That was just for the stone. They setting is a Henri Daussi CDHS-ADHS with .75 ctTW 18kt white gold for 1500, so bringing the grand total of the ring to ~9300.

Generally speaking the prices in walk in retail stores will be higher than you will find from online dealers.
Walk in stores do offer certain advantages. For some shoppers the difference in price is worth it.

Comparing a Brick and Mortar store retail seller's price to that of the online lists, such as the ones here at PS will likely make it seem the Daussi stone is higher.

Daussi Cushion is a branded cut but I wouldn''t say it is premium quality or better quality. It is just branded and more expensive. Some like the look of the daussi cushion and others don''t.

I agree with Charmypoo. Daussi cushions is a branded cushion and it''s cut a certain way. It all depends on the look you''re going for. I own a Daussi setting (CMGS-AMGS) but not a Daussi cushion. I mainly didn''t want my FI to pay the premium for it (though to me, Daussi cushions are very pretty), so my only input in my ring was that it be Daussi (since there will be no upgrade for me), and a cushion diamond. He picked everything about the diamond himself. Daussi will set a non-Daussi diamond if you want them to. Plus, it doesn''t even have to be a cushion. They custom make the halo to fit your stone. So the question is, what''s more important to you and your SO? Is it a Daussi cushion, or a Daussi setting, or both?
