We've got our AmberGretchen (now an official DR.) leaving us, so we need to celebrate her accomplishment

and also say goodbye

And we've got Neatfreak, newly moved in to the area, who we of course want to welcome

.

Plus I know some PSers have been aquiring some bling we need to see!

So I thought, GTG!

Walnut Creek is up for debate. I just thought it would be nice because we haven't gone there before and it has bling, nice food, and it's outdoors and since it's summer (as long as it's not 115 out that day) it might be fun to be outside some of the time. Plus it's Bart Acessible and easier for the Sacramento folks to get to.

Dates are open, and only restricted by your schedules so feel free to suggest. Spouses, sisters, cousins, friends welcome.

Let me know what works for you, what doesn't and let's see about getting together.

We moved here over 3 yrs ago and as pathetic as it sounds, I still haven''t really met any one outside of work.

Hi Cali, you can''t make this one hon? We''d love to have you, even if it''s for a quick meet and greet. But of course if you can''t make it to this one... there will be another, probably in a couple of months.

We tend to do them quarterly it seems. The bigger ones anyway. Occassionally we have smaller ones, or last minute ones or whatever... but the larger ones seem to be happening about quarterly.

So the rafting trip we were going to go on this weekend was moved to next weekend. For some reason I can't get the stars to align for me to get to another GTG! I already missed the last one too.

I won't be able to make it back in time on Sunday the 9th. I'm so bummed!

I can try to make it...I would love to say goodbye to AG and meet neatfreak, as well as see the rest of you again!

We just got back last night after spending two weeks in Europe and a Mediterranean cruise and then I go back to work next week and the first day of school will be on the 10th, then I''m in a wedding on the 15th, so the 9th will probably be a short day for me if I can make it...must have sleep so the new set of kids don''t run me down!

I also have some new diamond bling to share...got an anniversary/travel band for my birthday a few weeks ago along with the rainbow sapphire jewelry I wanted to share.

Miss you gals! Hope to see you on the 9th, and congratulations, AG!!!

http://www.broadwayplaza.com is the link to the mall. Tiffany is not located in the mall (1/2 block away). Parking can be a PITA but Nordstrom will valet for 5 bucks. But I haven't needed to do that except during the holidays.

It's a small plates restuarant, so their soups are in shot glasses and their portions for most things are very reasonable. Expensive for dinner, but lunch is usually pretty reasonable.

Alternatives are PF Changs or California Pizza Kitchen which are right in Broadway Plaza. Or if everyone just wants soup and salad... Boudin Bakery. There's also a Ruth's a Chris (hahaha).

Any other suggestions are welcome.

My suggestion is that we meet in front of Nordstroms at the Nordstroms CAFE 11:00-- they have pastries (I think) and coffee for anyone who needs a little something. And then we can go looking about. Not limited to bling shopping we can go see whatever anyone is in the mood for. There isn't a ton of Bling (but the main purpose of this isn't bling it's to meet and greet, and say goodbye to good friends and wish them well).

Davidson & Licht used (and may still) carry RA's and have some nice items.
Tiffany is also there (not a big one but it's respectable.
Spitz Jewelers carries high jewelry (like Cartier) and is worth a visit. It's also about a 1/2 block up from the main shopping area.

My recommendation is 11:00 Nordstroms cafe... we'll probably stay there till most arrive, then head over to Spitz (so anyone delayed will know where to find us). Then probably pop into Tiffany as it's on the way to Va de Vi (if we decide to eat there)

Lunch at 1:15-1:30 (wherever, completely open to suggestions)

Then those who want to keep looking about can go shopping and visit other areas, and anyone who needs to go off and do other things, can do that as well.

I've never been to Spitz so if anyone has specific experience let me know.. as in are they friendly or a PITA.

For those who haven't been to a GTG before... just look for a gaggle of women then look at their jewelry... we're fairly easy to spot, especially if you know our engagement rings. I will be wearing my BGD pendant and that's pretty identifiable.

Sounds like fun to me. I just went to that Tiffany's on Saturday. Very nice sales associates. I even had the babies with me and the security guard did nothing but make funny faces at them the whole time I was browsing-good thing no one was trying to heist anything! Most un-stuffy Tiffany's I have ever been in!

Is there more than one entrance to Nordstrom's?

Yeah, that Tiffany's has nice sales people. Very down to earth.
