I am in the process of purchasing a new setting for my diamond. It is a three stone setting with pear side stones. The vendor, who is a trusted pricescope vendor, has found a pair of pear side stones that are roughly .4 carats each. My hesitation is that they are not certified. He has assured me they are beautiful and well matched for my center stone but I am wondering if I should pay more and also wait for him to find a certified pair. What are your thoughts?
Thanks!

You aren't going to get lab graded matched pear sidestones at 40 points. Just have him send you pictures, and if he can an ASET (not a deal breaker, just would be nice). You'll be fine. I would, for example, trust Wink or BGD, Steven Kirsch, or Victor and a couple other vendors to find me 40 point pear sidestones WITHOUT pictures or an ASET even. But I understand the hesitation, so.. ask them for some pics and an ASET to ease your mind. :wavey:
