Hi everyone, I emailed GOG at the beginning of the week with some questions, and still no response from them. Is this usual? How long does it take for a response???

Thanks!

They usually respond within a couple of days, if not by the next day. At least in my experience. If you''ve waited a week, that''s too long. They are probably flooded with e-mails but most likely, probably didn''t get your e-mail, with spam and all. Try again or better, call them.

just to ease your mind...I was in their location on Thursday, 2 in the afternoon, the weather was very cold & windy and the place was HOPPING!!!! They are in a strip shopping center, not an enclosed "maul" and I was amazed at the amount of people in there....I think they are crazy-busy and much in demand in every aspect of their business...I would re-email them or call though, because when I had a price request regarding a setting a while back they emailed a response w/in 24 hrs....I also have to say that the people in the store looked like they were buying and I had a small request of the bench jeweler to remove my center stone for appraisal purposes- they treated my request with the same attention as if I were purchasing and then didn''t charge me for the service. I know it only took seconds but they don''t know me, it was my first trip in there, they were busy, I didn''t mention ps and still the service was excellent! I will definitely be going there for my vatche setting and band!

Please give them a second chance to answer your questions and give you the service you deserve!

Sounds like they were exceptioally busy....why don''t you PM or email Jonathan.......???

this is unusual for sure.......never rely on email!!! if you can''t visit in person, give them a call!

I can tell you from my experiance that it is very similar to Christmas on the net right now, and inside the store as well. Pick up the phone and call, it will get "instant" satisfaction. Jon is one of the good guys, so he is busy.

Hi Dazed&Confused,

My apologies if the email didn''t get answered. Over the past week my staff not only received many emails (we''re advertising via a different venue that is working out very well) but at the same time each of my staff received OVER 200 EMAILS WITH VIRUS''.
emcrook.gif
MS Outlook & Norton were doing some heavy filtering and if your email was mistakenly discarded I do apologize for that. We generally have all email answered within 24-48 hours. If I am pm''d/emailed on the forum here I have those answered within 24 hours if not sooner (99% off the time).

Please resend your email or better yet pm me or ... if you want instant help call me. I''m here all day till 6pm.

If anyone emails us and they are not getting a response as quickly as they''d like, just call us. If we''re all at the counter, as soon as we''re finished with the client we''re helping we''ll call you back asap. And yes ... Wink/fountainfairfax is right ... we''re just as busy in the store as we are on the net. Thank you for the kind words fountain too.

We look forward to helping you D&C.

Warm regards,
Jonathan

Oh my! Yea... over the past 2 weeks we received more virus'' than we''ve ever received in email in the history we''ve been dealing on the net. I was the only person who didn''t receive the virus'', probably because my personal email can only be accessed here on the forum through pm while the rest of my staff have their email''s listed on the site. Fortunately Norton Anti-Virus blocked em all and the virus'' weren''t able to spread on our network or on our computers.

Makes sence there is one out now that when a computer is infected it scans all the sites in the favorites/bookmarks on that computer for email addresses and sends itself to any email addresses it finds.
The number of viruses has tripled lately on the email address we have listed on our work website.

Hi Jonathan
We had a similar problem but really bad, We had up to 40000 Spam mails on one server.
29.gif

What we did was remove all e-mail hyperlinks on our websites and installed an enquiry form. We also had to change e-mail names as the bad guys had our e-mail addresses. These days e-mail links on a site are an invitation for an attack

Hoping it comes right for you

Johan

Thanks Johan,

I''m about to cut out but I think I''ll yank those emails off the site tonight sometime. I certainly don''t want that to happen again. Hope you didn''t get infected by any of em.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for all your replies. After a confusing and sometimes frustrating few weeks of looking at endless specs, I decided to take a break from diamond hunting. I''m back at it and will try to contact Jonathan at GOG.

Thanks!

Still Dazed and Confused.
