I have been looking for a well cut diamond, and I have found the following one; looks quite good using a loupe:

GIA
1.83
H
VS2
Depth 60.4%
Table 61%
Polish EX
Sym VG

I believe that the table is a bit larger than ideal.

I appreciate any advice.

How does the stone look?

If you are judging cut, you should not be using a loupe. A well-cut stone should perform in different light conditions, and a very good test is holding it under a desk with little to no light.

As for this stone, the information available is insufficient to give an opinion. The fact that the table is so big leads to my assumption that the stone has a rather shallow crown. However, we need full Sarin-data in order to assess the cut.

Live long,

when you say shallow - are yoy meaning that the percentage depth is low - say 8-10% or that the crown angle is low... like say 30° (or rather steep at say 38°) pitty since the 60.4% depth seems like it would give a nice spread for it''s weight.

Thank you for your reply. The diamond looks terrific and clean (better than some VS1s I''ve seen).
