Hi everyone!

I have been lusting after the beautiful Tacori 2578rd ever since I tried it on in store. I was browsing around Ebay today and lo and behold there it was, brand new and for an amazing price (under $3000)!!! I went ahead and bought it, after seeing that the seller was a jewelry store in California with good ebay reviews and a history of selling Tacori pieces. I made sure before purchasing that it came with the Tacori authenticity card and full warranty, and I have a 2 week period to return the ring.

However, I am feeling very nervous and worried about this purchase. This is the first big online purchase I have made, and for some reason getting it at such a discounted price and from an online dealer is making me worried! While on the store website it states they are an authorized Tacori dealer, I was unable to find their name with the Tacori store locator. Another thing I'm worried about is having it resized. I contacted them to see if it could be resized before it is shipped (it is a size 6.5 and I am a 4), and this is what they responded with:

"Every ring wears different so your size 4 may fit better in this ring as a 4 1/4. This won't negate your warranty. We are happy to size it , there is an addtional $75 sizing charge and please allow 1 week. Please advise."

Obviously my main concern is not having the warranty voided by them resizing it in store. With the authenticity card, can I can bring the ring to any local authorized Tacori dealer to have it sized instead? Would it make a difference either way? This may make me feel more comfortable, as I can see the ring directly after and would be dealing with someone local and not thousands of miles away.

Any advice or things to be aware of would be greatly appreciated! Should I even be nervous about these things? Thank you in advance for your help with this!

When I looked up that ring design, it did not look like one that could easily be resized. Does it have a plain section a the bottom? I would personally not size down a 6.5 to a 4. I would only do that if the shank was totally plain. If you want that ring, you should have it made to order in your ring size and for your size diamond. I think it would be fine for someone who wears a 6 or so and can just add some sizing beads. Is your diamond the size of the cz in the setting?

The setting is only half scalloped (I've attached pictures for reference), so the plain portion should hopefully be easily sized. We decided not to have it sized through the seller and to instead take it to a local authorized Tacori dealer to be both sized and set with a center stone. The setting can hold a stone between 1.2-1.99 carats, and we were looking to get a stone around 1.5 cts, so there shouldn't be an issue with that either. Fingers crossed there are no issues! I'm so excited to get it, I can't stop looking at pictures and doing a happy dance :D !

Okay, half scalloped will certainly help! That head is made for a certain size stone, and a head is not going to fit a 1.2 and a 1.9 well. Does the setting have a cz in it? If it does, you need to stick close to that size. A 1.9 would fit in a 2 ct head and a 1.2 would fit a much smaller head.

In the picture, I am not seeing a plain section - the curvey features are all the way through. Are you sure there is a plain section? If you proceed, make sure the return still applies if you resize - most do not accept returns after resizing.
