Hi all, I know nothing about pearls and inherited this ring. It's probably from the late 80s. My regular appraiser doesn't do pearls so I'm asking for the collective wisdom here. Thank you on advance

That is a baroque Tahitian pearl!
Tahitians were quite expensive in the 1980s, more so than now. Round ones are more valuable than baroques. Given the high cost of gold, I expect the setting is more valuable than the pearl.

It looks nice on you. How does it feel?

I think it's fabulous! What a fun setting. I also have a Tahitian pearl ring and I think it's super fun to wear.
 
Baroque Tahitian, very wearable and elegant ring setting IMHO.
