I''ve been reading your posts for quite a while, and I''ve been worshipping all your stunning preciouses and drooling all over my keyboard...

I used to be very addicted to jadeite for over 2 years, I''m from China, btw.
The avatar is one of my souvenirs, yay~

When I first found out this forum, I didn''t mean to get addicted, honestly!
But it seems it''s too late now, i found colored stone is even more fun to seek after than jadeite.
And even before I realized, I already got myself 3 of them.
Here is my very first custom cut tourmaline, to share with you as my first greeting

I'm actually currently in Beijing, might go jadeite shopping at some point. My mom actually offered to give me a "glass" type bangle, but it's too big

It's ok, I think I like my current bangle better anyways, can't say I've really jumped on the white "glassy jadeite" wagon, I like a little bit of color, "moss", or "cotton" in mine! The pure white glassy ones look too much like..well...glass to me, heh.


Any setting plans for the tourmaline?

I'm so happy that you liked my jadeite although as a jadeite, it is by far not any significant piece.
If you would like to see some jadeite eye candies, I have indeed collected some.
I mean, some pictures, not that I can afford any of them...
Just can't help to complain that the price of fine jadeite is increasing like crazing in recently years, cannot afford them anymore.

As for the mint tourmaline, I already sent it away for the setting.
It's been a month and I miss her...

I promise to let her say "hello" to you when she comes back to me

And the other 2 stones I got...ah...I'm keeping a secret for now...
because...they haven't come to me yet
I will pick them up myself in Jan. when I'm in the states

MTG, wow, "glass" type bangle...I can only dream of that~~at least take a pic and show us~~
I heard "Xiao Ying" in Beijing is a good place for jadeite shopping.
But I'm in Shanghai, what a shame...here we have no where for jadeite shopping at all...

Can you tell me more about this ''fluorescence''?

I think we''re talking light interference here, similar to what you see in stones such as prehnite or fire opal, but it''s probably more pronounced in that fine glass jadeite. Could be also similar to adularescence of moonstone.
