new here, and I cant seem to find anyone who has dealt with Diamond Exchange in Toronto but any help on this diamond would be greatly appreciated, we''re going on a trip in a couple of weeks and I want to surprise her! please any help is greatly appreciated.

Girdle 3.30

Cut Square ICE Ideal
Cert MGR*

MGR is thier own grading system, but I''m pretty sure I can get it EGLUSA graded if I asked. oh and they''re asking for 3,005.51.

I''ve also read a lot about Martin at USACert. so I''m thinking of going with him, but his prices are a bit higher.

Welcome!

Do you have any images of this diamond, or have you seen it in person? Also GIA and AGS are the two premier labs for diamond grading, this page explains how the grading labs rank.

I worked with Michael Baumbach, who was (is?) the manager there to get my cushion from New York to Canada, but it was not in their stock. He was very honest and responsive without being pushy. I would highly recommend him.

That said, it''s good to do your homework on PS and find out all that you can about that cut and post photos and specs of stones for feedback and price comparisons. Another place you may want to consider is Good Old Gold or Whiteflash for fancy shaped squares. They have an excellent upgrade policy and they provide loads of information on their in-house stones.

No I havent seen it and the website doesnt provide anything other than what I''ve posted.
Which is a stark contrast to other websites that post many different pictures and the reports.
I''ve only started my search recently, since I got the idea to propose when we''re on this trip, but I''m hopefull I can find something soon. Although if I can''t, I can''t.
Any ideas, suggestions or examples on good Princess Diamonds found elsewhere?

Thanks!

Good info pixy!!!

We can certainly help you look for diamonds online - firstly what is your budget for the diamond itself? What are your priorities? You could lower the colour and clarity a bit to help the budget if needed without visual sacrifice to G or H even and VS clarity, unless of course you prefer VVS and F colour.

If you wanted to pursue the above diamond, maybe you could ask if they can email you photos or other images of the diamond?

I have a budget of around 4,000 - 5,000. And I''m looking for the best value diamond anywhere close to that. (isnt everyone???)
I know I dont want anything too large but I do want it to stand out. anywhere from .7 - 1 ct is acceptable really.
Obviously I would get a better quality stone for that price if I went with a smaller size which I am comfortable with. So ideally I would like a smaller stone that is of high quality.
I have zero idea how the dimensions and angles of a diamond work but I have done a fair amount of research about the 4C''s and all that other fun stuff.

It''s great getting these answers so quickly...
Thanks a lot!

Glad to help! Our RT team try to keep it moving and it is very busy today!

Ok with your quality preferences, would you rather stick with colourless ( DEF) and VVS clarity? Would you consider F/G colour ( AGS/ GIA graded) and VS clarity? Is your budget for the diamond only or does it need to cover the setting too?

Ok I had a look and lowered the clarity to VS to bring up some diamonds in budget, here is one to consider, just check the very thin part of the girdle isn't an issue if you want to find out more ( I doubt it with a hand picked WF diamond but best to check).
