Hi Charlene...yes the prices are very good, but what do the stones look like and what is the quality of the cut? We have heard that Costco tends to carry some well-cut stones, but the 'deal' you are getting is only as good as the stone is for the $$. So if the stones are not well-cut, your 'great deal' flies out the window and you end up with an okay looking stone for a good price. A piece of junk is still a piece of junk no matter how little you pay for it.
I would wonder why the prices are SO good, do you have more specs or numbers on the stones? Are they lab graded with certs? If so, post the information on them to help get more information.
I am very new to this Diamond lark. BUT I am pretty sure tcw means Total carat weight. Remember that price rises exponentially with carat size. That is 8 1/4 carat stones cost a lot less that one 2 carat stone.
Like Mara said you need much more information. If you are brand new I recommend a couple of months research before making your decision. Be warned that by the end of it you will probably decide to go for a smaller higher quality stone. I think the best starting place is BlueNile.com - play with their interactive search.
Also, the site doesn't say anything about cut - the stones could look a lot smaller than 1.5 if they're not cut well, and they could look more yellow than an I.
Considering this, I think you can do better for $11K. You could get a beautiful G or H that's just under 1.5 carats and will probably be much prettier than the Costco stones, and still have money left over for a gorgeous setting that you choose yourself. Look on Pricescope!
