Before I get to my question, I just want to thank all the knowledgeable people on PS. I have been lurking on this site for a little over three months and have learn more about diamonds than I ever could have imagined. However, time is closing in on me and I need to get a ring ASAP.

I found a diamond that appears to fit into my price range and has a great result on the HCA (TVP - 0.9). Here are the specifications.

Round
Car. 1.02
Col. I
Cla. VS2
Dep. 60.9
Tab. 56.2
Cro. 34.4
Pav. 40.7
Cut. 0.60
Sym. EX
Pol. VG

Price: $4,771.00

I am looking for opinions about the numbers, quality and price. Any information or questions are appreciated. Thanks.

PS: I did a quick search on PS and there are several other Round, 1.02ct., I-color diamonds. However, the numbers of the above stone were lacking in most, if not all of the cheaper diamonds.

the numbers look pretty good..looks like the makings of great stone. can you get any pics...H&A, idealscope image?

Hmmmm...this must not be an ideal...the pavillion depth % seems a bit off....I could be wrong...hope someone with more experience chimes in.....

Looks like a winner to me!

The only one it seems you might want to consider -- based on a search on the "search by cut quality" in Price scope, is:

http://www.whiteflash.com/diamonds/diamond_Details.aspx?itemcode=AGS-4797903

...where, at $4936 for the Priceccope price, your diamond is bigger, and with a lower score on the HCA, which can assist at least for measuring variation.

Though you might want to peek at that one, with AGS cert, and which is a "Cut above H&A diamond," you seem to have a nice one.

Best,

Heh, heh, I did try, but guess I didn't figure out yet that technique for making a link active in a post...as the one takes you somewhere you dont' want to be. The one below, suitable for cutting and pasting into a browser, hopefully will work (though remember the price posted of $5196 should be discounted for Pricescope viewers).

i think that's the pavil angle 40.7 (not depth %)combine with a crown angle of 34.4 is my dream combo, unless this stone has a thick girdle, this stone is in the "ideal" sweet spot.
