Hi all, I have been viewing this forum for a couple months now, and I thought I might as well register so that I can start posting. Anyways, I have been looking for an engagement ring for about 6 months now, and it''s almost time for me to buy something. After learning about her preferences, I know that she likes Princess shape the best, and color is most appealing to her. I have been looking for the right balance of the 4 C''s, and I thought I might ask some of you for your opinions. We are both trying to finish college right now, so my budget can only be around $2000 for the diamond.

After searching Whiteflash, BlueNile, DCD, GOG, and Mondera, I have found many great prices on quality stones. One that has stuck out the most is from Whiteflash:

Item Code: 3033145
Price: $1,773.00
Report: GIA
Shape: Princess
Carat: 0.60
Color: E
Clarity: VVS2
Depth: 71.5
Table: 78
Girdle: VTN-TK
Polish: Very Good
Symmetry: Good
Culet: None
Fluorescence: No
Measurements: 4.72-4.71X3.37
Length/Width: 1.00

What are your thoughts on this? Any help you could offer (whether it be on this stone, or any others) would be most appreciated. Thank you in advance. Jason.

Hi Jason

& welcome to PS!

I'll tell ya, i'm not crazy about that princess - the table's way too big & a very thin girdle is a no-no in princesses, not to mention the variation btwn vthn-thck is too great.

I do have a few suggestions in your price range tho

My personal fav is this one - SC .61 F VS1 for $1900 (excellent light return & just look at that B-scope report!) - LINK

But this one also seems v nice - DCD .57 E VS2 $1529 cash - DCD LINK

Best of luck to you Jason
