Newbie here... Diamond as an investment/future engagement ring...

The dollar is not doing so well and I'm predicting things are only going to get worse. The American dollar is now worth less than the Canadian dollar.

Before the dollar dips any lower I was thinking about investing in gold or a diamond as a stable investment. I have around $5000 to invest and would appreciate any advise.

This diamond may also be used as an engagement ring in the future.
