I forgot to mention i need a wedding set.
I want a wide look when put together but with details, such as bead set rounds and a few baguettes and engraving and defin. filagree.

I can't believe I found this forum on google! I was wondering if you can tell me a store where i can find estate engagement settings - a wedding set would be nice so it fits together better.

I live in New York and also need a reputable diamond dealer; where I can find good deals. We only have about under 9k to work with.

Thank you!

There are some stores that sell beautiful antique jewelry in the city. Two are on University Place a block or two up from 8th St., on the west side of the street. One's near Gramercy Park, I think near the northeast corner--it's an antique store, you go down a few steps to get in. There are several on Madison in the high 70s, I think. Or do I mean Lex? There's one on Lex in the 20s, perhaps? One on Broadway around 79th or 80th St. Anyway, there are lots of them scattered around town. I'm sorry I'm being so vague.

And there are a number of antique jewelry stores on 47th St, diamond row.

Antiqueengagementrings.com sells exact reproductions of antique settings. The owner, Leigh, has a booth in one of the shops on 47th street. I bought a setting from him and was quite happy with it. I recommend looking at them in person, since you're in the city.

Check out this internet vendor. antiqeengagementrings.com

He has some really beautiful pieces

, and you may save a little $$$.

Faycullen.com has some nice ones also, but her return policy isn't the greatest.

Check out Doyle and Doyle, 189 Orchard Street. www.doyledoyle.com.

The one in Gramercy is called Starlight (or Stardust?) Antiques. The selection was small when I was there, but the salesgirl said that they normally carry more rings.

And yes, there are a number on the upper east. Check out this link:

http://www.newyorkmetro.com/shopping/guides/weddings/rings/listings/jewelers1.htm

It contains a long list of jewelery stores in the city. I found it very useful.

Also check out www.estatediamondjewelry.com

I know they're on 47th between 5th and 6th

Thank you so much! I will check out all of these places you mentioned...

I like the rings on antiqueengagementrings.com, wonder if i can get a good deal.

I also wonder if it is better to buy the diamond and setting together from one place instead of separately.
Maybe I will get a better deal that way?
